Creamy Cashew Cheese Sauce

A creamy and delicious dairy-free cheese sauce, that's super simple to make! You can also customize this sauce by adding different herbs or spices to it.

Try the recipe for this easy to make cheese sauce that you can layer on lasagnas, spread on pizzas or mix with pasta for a creamy, dairy-free mac and cheese. I also included step-by-step videos below for this recipe.


  • 1 C Cashew Milk

  • 3 Tbl Nutritional Yeast

  • 2 Tbl Oat Flour (grounded oats)

  • 2 Tbl Cornstarch or Arrowroot powder

  • 2 tsp Onion Powder

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1 Tbl Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 2 Tbl Coconut Oil- I used Simply Natural from


  1. Add all the ingredients to a mixing bowl and whisk to combine.

  2. Pour into a pot and place on medium heat. Whisk frequently and cook for approximately 5 minutes until the sauce has thickened.

  3. remove from heat and set aside to cool until ready to use.

  4. You can also store this sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
